HOMES FOR BARN CATS

BARN CAT PROGRAM

Are you passionate about cats? Do you have a barn, stable, warehouse, or similar structure?

We currently have a number of cats that are not suited for life as house pets. This program aims to provide homes for cats that are often considered un-adoptable through our standard adoption procedures.

The cats in our Barn Cat Program exhibit a range of temperaments, from feral to friendly, and typically fall into one of three categories:

– Cats that are not suitable for traditional home living.

– Feral or semi-feral cats and kittens that are too old to be socialized.

– Cats that thrive in an outdoor environment.

We refer to these felines as “barn cats” since that is the most common type of housing. However, various types of buildings can offer a safe and happy home for these unique cats. Whether you have a warehouse, workshop, or garage, as long as the cat(s) receive proper care and shelter, we are open to considering diverse locations!

Please be aware that we do not place cats that are suitable as household companions into barn settings; we only adopt out those cats that lack other options.

WHAT YOU NEED:

By adopting a barn cat, you commit to providing:

– Shelter in a barn, outbuilding, stable, or other appropriate structures.

– Daily food and water, as cats cannot survive solely on hunting.

– Necessary veterinary care as required.

– A secure area to keep them for the initial 4-6 weeks to help them adjust to their new environment. This should be a safe indoor enclosure from which they cannot escape.
