MABEL

  • by

Long term foster Mabel, is a semi feral cat who was found with a horrible face wound in September.Struggling with infections and a setback in October when fireworks frightened she reopened her wounds. Her mistrust of humans and confinement indoors made treatment difficult at times. Options were becoming limited on the best path forward for her. Following a third sedation procedure to clean out her wound, and specialist blood tests and investigations were completed to give her one final hope at a meaningful recovery.

With constant care from her foster and the amazing team in Athlone Veterinary hospital Mabel is finally beginning to heal. Her journey is far from over as her hair may never regrow making her more at risk for future skin issues but she is now comfortable being handled and is relaxed in her surroundings. She will require regular vet checks, wound dressings and medication to help her recovery. Sponsoring Mabel gives her the opportunity to have a full and happy life. A chance that not many feral cats are given
